The company was started in 1995 by Susan A. Ferenc, DVM, Ph.D. and John U. Bell, Ph.D., DABT. The backgrounds of the founding partners, comprising advanced degrees in veterinary medicine, resource economics, pharmacology, and toxicology, positioned the company to provide risk-related services to a diverse client base. Although our initial activities focused on evaluating the risks associated with contamination of environmental media and the use of risk to determine suitable cleanup levels, we have also been heavily involved in the evaluation of risks associated with hazardous waste combustion and with contamination of the food supply. The diversity of our project work has had as a common thread the integration of risk assessment tools and techniques to develop scientifically-justified solutions.
